This past weekend I got the privilege of working with a student organization at Jones AT&T Stadium during the Oklahoma State game as a fundraiser. It was my third time volunteering at the stadium, but my first time getting assigned to one of the two luxurious suite levels.

Editor, I take great exception to the homophobia expressed in a recent letter to the Daily Lobo, "A society of Schraders would lack government, infrastructure," on Nov. 13 by UNM student Andres Saenz. While Saenz may find others who sympathize with him for attacking Don Schrader's decisions regarding taxes, personal medical coverage and income (to say nothing of his constant near-nudity), Saenz jettisons any goodwill his points may have earned him by opening his letter with, "Don Schrader is an overtly gay man who contributes nothing to our society.

Editor, We, as students, are held to a rigorous standard of academic honesty when performing our coursework, and by that standard, the merits of our work are made unique. The question that every student should begin to ask, however, is to what academic standard of integrity are our instructors held, and how is it enforced and acted upon? When we submit coursework, it can be scrutinized at so many levels to determine whether there is a modicum of plagiarism, if we have falsified results or if in any way we have provided material that is of lesser integrity than the standard requires.

After the column was published, I recall one commenter on The Daily Toreador Web site berating me for defending video games, which "objectify women.

Editor, I was appalled to read the column titled "Abortion a modern-day injustice" in Monday's Daily Lobo not only for its staunch hypocrisy but its clever misuse of "the facts." Comparing the injustices of slavery and racism to that of abortion and the reproductive rights of women is about as naive and ludicrous as one might consider arguing.
