An art exhibition titled "Edward and Tim's superBFAntastic Show" is currently on display at Eastern New Mexico University in the Runnels Gallery at the Gold Library. The show, presented by ENMU students Tim Richardson and Edward Lowman, runs this week Dec. 1-4.

According to Christopher Calderon, the Runnels Art Gallery Manager, the BFA exhibition has been held every semester. It is a requirement for all art students who have applied for a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree to showcase their work.

"I feel (the show) also allows the entire campus to see what our art students are doing and how they develop as artists," said Calderon. "It is a great learning experience for first and second year students and also helps motivate them into new directions."

Both Richardson and Lowman will graduate this December with a degree of Bachelors of Fine Arts.

Richardson majored in interdisciplinary art with a painting style that is a cross between Frida Kahlo and Max Ernst who are both surrealist. He is exhibiting 16 artworks including a ceramic pot and cup.

Lowman, who majors in graphic design, exhibited various art pieces, including works for post cards, mailers and a CD cover for the Art Department DVD. Some of his black and white photography and mixed media sculptures are also on display.

Calderon said the BFA exhibitions are the last of three formal exhibitions he puts on every semester.

"They always come at the end of the semester so that students can include art works from the entire semester," Calderon explained.
