What do you get when you combine the potential for over the top action, the potential for an amazing graphic narrative, horrible film direction, and cheesy action scenes? Well "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" of course.

The film focuses around the exploits of Hugh Jackman's character Logan as he joins an elite military team of only mutants. Logan and Victor Creed, played by Liev Schreiber, have a conflict of interest and Logan leaves the team. Cannot say much more you have to see it for yourself.

One thing I can say is this movie's action sequences are far too cheesy. A person can plainly see the difference between the CG and the reality. This is easily seen when Logan fights, Taylor Kitsch's character, Gambit. Logan begins to chop down a fire escape ladder that Gambit is on top off and after every slice the leftover pieces of the ladder seem to just disappear. And after this point almost every CG effect is over the top and almost not worth the trouble.

The acting was very good, especially considering the lack-luster script that was written.

Hugh Jackman plays a very good Wolverine; this isn't saying much considering this character is the only character he can portray well. Liev Schreiber is an amazing Sabertooth/Victor Creed. And last and certainly not least is Ryan Reynolds, from Van Wilder and Waiting, plays the role of Deadpool. This has to be one of the most accurate portrayals of any X-Men character to date. He captured the cockiness and wicked coolness that is Deadpool.

This movie, even through all its faults, still retains a moderate entertainment value. I give it 3 adamantium claws out of 5.
