It's nearly the end of this semester now, maybe you have already begun to work on your final projects. To the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds and Zias some of them already have their final grade of this season, to some other teams it is just the beginning of the season. Senior players concluded their final show in their college time. Maybe it is a little sentimental, but on the other hand there will be new players joining Eastern next season. Let's go over what has been finished by now.

Greyhounds football team got one step further in this season, took 3 wins and played several really exciting games. Junior Wide Receiver Jesse Poku was selected into All-Lone Star Conference South Division first offense team. Senior Linebackers Edward Zamora and Texavier Henry received second defense team honors. Six players were selected for honorable mention.

Hounds Soccer team played its best season in the history of the team. Eleven straight victories refresh the old record for eight wins in 2007 season. Eastern had three honorees with Junior forward Emerson Rodrigues on the first team and two freshmen, Kal Herbert and Michael Stewart were selected into All-LSC South Division second team. And Herbert also selected as the LSC Co-freshman of the Year. In the women's soccer team, senior forward Samantha Lawrence leads four Zias who were selected into All-LSC teams. The Zia soccer team played an outstanding season harvest with 9 wins.

The Zia volleyball team finished their final matches this season on Nov. 5. This young team should learn a lot from this season. Senior libero Caitlin Murphy received her second All-Conference selection. She contribute more than 20 digs each game in 13 matches. Furthermore, junior setter Grace Brandt and sophomore Jessica King have been named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll with Murphy for their spectacular performance this season.

Eastern Cross Country also finished a wonderful performance out of recent years especially the men's team who received 1st place in the College-Junior College Division race on Oct. 3.

Different from the football, soccer and volleyball, the time of basketball has just begun. The Greyhounds basketball team played their first game of the season today, against Western New Mexico's basketball team at 7 p.m. Zia basketball has already rocked their season on Nov. 9 at Albuquerque in an exhibition game with the University of New Mexico. And their first official game was played yesterday in our Greyhound Arena.

Seasons end, seasons begin year after year, and for us spectators maybe what we should do is to just simply support our teams.
